Projects:
  • GISAS www.oph.fi/prime330/prime103.aspx
GISAS is a three-year (2003-2006) education and research project funded by the Minerva action of the European Commission. The aim of the project is to develop ways in which geographical information systems (GIS) are applied to secondary school education and teacher training.
  • Geocube www.geo-cube.eu
Geocube is an attractive online resource about Geography. Geocube is based on the principle of the Rubik Cube with six faces and 54 topics. It is a virtual and easily accessible website which is available online for free.
  • Dakini project
The Dakini project established the first cross border (UK/France) geo-spatial web server for schools.
It provides high quality map based data for the trans channel area (Kent, East Sussex, Nord Pas de Calais, Seine Maritime and Somme) via a bi-lingual website accessible to all secondary schools (11-16 years).
Lesson plans and training materials were produced in support of the GIS software and data which were dispatched to the school.
Training sessions were performed in Kent and North France' schools to ensure that the maximum potential of the new ICT technology is realised.
